| John2. B-29s could carry a maximum of about 20,000 lbs for very short range missions, but problem with smaller bombs tends to be bulk more than weight. 20,000 lbs generally meant maximum of 40 x 500 lb GP bombs or more little ones. Torpedoes were standard aerial ones used during WWII to the best of my knowledge -- no Barnes Wallis trick warheads or drop methods, just line up and launch. AD could carry three but not sure how many they would carry on one mission. Not sure what the RAZON and TARZON bombs were used on. Cookie Sewell AMPS |
