Right, Ed -
One 'major' change was the introduction of jet
planes a few months into the War.
Another change may be the large-scale use of
napalm, a chemical weapon in fact.

I'm
afraid you are looking in the wrong war for new tactics or equipment since
we basically used WW2 equipment and tactics. New stuff didn't begin
showing up until the war was almost over. As for doctrine, the only
thing I can think of is the establishment of Special Forces using "lessons
learned" from Korean War partisan and special operations as beginning
point for SF doctrine. Even this was limited since the main focus of
SF at that time was a war in Europe and the Far East/Southeast Asia
relegated to a slow simmer on the back
burner.
