| John2, There's a big difference between prototypes and production aircraft, plus the time required for service workups to operational unit status. There's no disconnect there, but the USAF was nervous and wanted to speed up getting the B-47 into service units and follow up with the B-52 once the inability of propeller driven bombers to defend themselves against jet fighters became apparent.
