Dutch-made Korean War Film
Sat
I may be the last one of "us" to see this film, but has anyone else seen "Field of Honor," the Korean War film (1986) about the Dutch infantry battalion in the Korean War? This is a fiction film, produced by the Dutch with the cooperation of the South Koreans, and was filmed near the DMZ. It was written or directed (can't remember which) by a Dutchman who was an officer with their battalion during the war.
Not actually so much about the battalion itself, but rather about the experiences of a particularly hard core NCO trapped behind enemy lines after his unit got overrun by the Chinese. I gave it a B+ until about the last two minutes, whereupon Dutch Hollywood collapsed with a scene that would please our Hollywood in its hokiness.
