Well, my dear old grand pappy once said to me, "If you do not ask, then you will never have the answer".  

     The one Korea is presently bestowing upon us, is different from what congress tossed aside, as that would have been issued by our government.
The other medal we received is for Korean Service or a campaign medal as they have been called.  It is the one which the "battle" stars are placed.
