Cecil Foster claims and Soviet files

Hello, Mr. Blasser:
I was reading an on-line article on Sabre Classics web site, “Nine was
Enough” where the Sabre Ace Cecil G. Foster accounted his 9 kills in
1952. I’m looking for info about which ones of the 9 MiG kills he was
credited with have confirmation in Soviet sources. His claims happened on:
September 7 1952: according to Foster, he only claimed a damaged MiG, but
later his scoreboard was changed from a “damaged” to a
“kill” due to unknown reasons.
September 26 1952: two MiGs in a single sortie (one blew up in midair and
the pilot of the second one ejected).
October 16 1952: he riddled a MiG but ran out of ammo before to shot it
down. The apparent confirmation of such MiG kill came from another flight of
Sabres (39 FIS, 51 FIW) whose members apparently saw the MiG falling in
flames and crashing in the ground.
November 22 1952: Perhaps Foster’s toughest mission. Foster and his
wingman (Edmund G. Hepner) engaged 8 MiG-15s and found out that they were
flown by “Honchos”. While trying to escape Hepner was shot down
by a MiG-15 but Foster could also bag out of the sky one of the MiGs, seeing
how the enemy pilot bailed out. Could you please research who were both,
Hepner’s defeater and Foster’s victim?
December 7 1952: he claimed to hit a MiG apparently hit by another MiG few
minutes before. He did not see when the MiG crashed into the ground (he
should pull-up to avoid the ground too) but apparently his wingman Wilton
Crosby and the members #3 and #4 of his flight confirmed that.
January 22 1953: Foster claimed to damage 3 MiGs. The confirmation of such
“kill” came from another pilot, who asserted that the third MiG
hit by Foster released smoke and fire, began to dive and finally crashed.
January 24 1953: In 2 sorties he claimed to shot down his last 2 MiG kills.
My question is, due to you had access to the Soviet records of the 64 IAK,
What say the Soviets on those dates? Admitt they losses? It would be
particularly interesting to me to know who was the MiG-15 pilot who shot
down Ed Hepner on November 22 1952 and who was the MiG driver downed by
Cecil Foster in that same engagement. If anyone else can help, it will be
wellcome.
Thanks in advance.
Respectfully yours,
Diego Fernando Zampini
