I have just written an article on why fiction isn't history, motivated in
large by one extremely negative (and smug) article on the Pearl Harbour
film. While those who recognise Historical Fiction as History rather then
Fiction have a problem, I reserve my alarm for the pro historians who feel
comfortable using works of fiction as historical sources.
