Re: Korea - 50 years ago this week, Jan. 10-16

My experience from reading other Russian tactics from WW2 they were most aggressive attacking
bombers and transports.  They kept adding heavier weapons on their planes such as the 20mm cannon.

Seems their Migs were more suited for hitting heavier aircraft.  When they hit a US fighter it was shot down.
Our 50cal could scratch the Mig but not knock it down until the F86-F with 4 20mm.

Also I have one other question.  I cannot find any reference that any other Russian Jet AC were used or shot down during Korea.  Seems they only used the LA 11 or the Mig 15. Did they employ other AC?

It seems to me the US shot down a lot of Korean/Chinese/Russian AC but there is not much referrence as to prop to prop dogfighting.

Dan,

No. The raids with the worst B-29 losses and damage were on 12 April 1951 and 23 October 1951.
