No, but their pilots had limited overwater skills. They also tended to get intercepted and, like the Soviets, had no SAR capability so the pilots didn't relish the thought of going into the drink.

The 30 November 1951 raid on Cho-Do Island in which their combined Tu-2/La-9 and later MiG-15 force was intercepted and shredded over water is another reason why they weren't real desireous of getting caught out of sight of land, either!
