Re: Soviet Aircraft Types in Korea
Thanks
Hard to keep track.
BTW I was born in 1951 May13th.
Kinda interesting what was going on while I was forming in to a baby.
The books I have read all indicate battles engagning several hundred Migs.
Something on the order from 2 to 1 to 10 to 1 odds.
During the Honcho era, from the accounts on both sides, it appears to be a
1:1 air kill ratio.
The Migs capped the slower F80 and F84 easier, but seem to get thier fair
share of F86's
What is your take on this data?
One other question. The F84 seemed to fair better then the F80.
The F84 seemed to have a better climb then the F86 but cannot get clear
comparisons from any of the US AC on each performance envelope.
Based on top speed the F84 should have done better.
