That father was Col. Joyce, retired USA. His son Sgt. Joyce was one of those killed.
It was in the paper here the other day, the Les Aspin is reported to have said, when asked if he was sending in the armor and his replay was "It ain't gonna happen".
I saw the movie last week, Black Hawk Down and it shows the Pakistanis going to the aid of the Americans and I understood it was the Egyptians that went in with tanks according to the book I read. Col. Joyce refused to shake Clinton's hand and told him he was not fit to lead the country, then walked out.
