Glen,

I just checked the biography.  I don't know about MASH and MASH goes to 
Maine but Butterworth wrote the rest of the MASH books using "Richard 
Hooker" as a pen name.  Most likely the publisher bought the rights from 
Hooker to continue the series.

I certainly can since those were the days when "FTA" was the draftee's 
creed. <g>
