RE: Panther V Mig Redux

Were the British helping with ground attacks?
Did they not encounter prop aircraft?
Wow losing 103 planes.

I think they withdrew the Seafire 47's.  Even though the later models had the contrarotating props.
They seemed to have a terrible time getting them off the deck with the torque roll.
Just do not understand how the radial engine Furies did better?

Dan,

There are a couple of histories on Commonwealth aviation which flew in Korea. They only flew Seafire 47s, Sea Furies, and Fireflies, no other fighters. They appear to have lost 3 aircraft in air-to-air combat and claimed one confirmed and one probable MiGs, both apparently Chinese.

Their overall losses appear to 103 aircraft, including one Seafire 47 shot down by a trigger-happy B-29 gunner.
