Yes. the Tigers did not go into the USAF.. They went inot the USAAF.
They were in operation for about two years. Only 8 months combat.
Technically from December 1941 to end of July 1942.

There was a few months transition as the CATF...

Not all the Tigers went into the USAF.  The real Tigers were the six month
AVG, weren't they?
