These are the fights between ROC Mustangs and VVS La-11s the Russians now discuss in their histories. "Red Devils" has a bit on it as do some other texts. 

The ROKAF is another story. In June 1950 they did only have T-6s, but later on they got one sqaudron of 10 F-51Ds with American instructors. The USAF pilots flew most of the early missions in those aircraft and losses are indicated in the KORWALD data base. 

See the 1958 movie "Battle Hymn" with Rock Hudson for a rough idea of what it was like (i.e. filtered through Hollywood in the 1950s...)
