YES.. the same way in Vietnam with the US.
After a while the engraciating had to be constantly reinforced to mean
anything.

However if 22 Russian pilots got the metals they most likely deserved it.
BTW How many Russian, US, Chinese and NK pilots died in Combat in Korea?

Looking for real numbers.

Yeah but the running joke in those days was how the Russians gave
out medals for coming to work on time. You'd see cartoons all the
time of Russian officers completely covered in medals, or wearing a
bunch of medals on their pyjamas.
