RE: to list members

Thanks you for the research...
Mr. Truman surely had a tough era to manage the country.

i said i would research the rosengrant medal returned to president
truman.:::

here is the lette she wrote to Truman
President Harry S. Truman., The scroll and Purple Heart were addresed
to my husband Ray Rosengrant, but as he has passed on and I know exactly
how he felt about you, I am sure he would have returned them. So I do
not hesitate to do so.
Soldiers need help when they are fighting not medals and scrolls
after they are dead. I am sending back to you my boys medal and scroll
as not being fit from you
You said my boy died for freedom, my boy did fight for freedom, but
he died because you and your man Acheson were afraid of the Russians and
would not help him fight. Why did you send our boys to Korea when you
were afraid of the Russians? You must have known they were behind the
war from the first.
My boy was not afraid. Mothers and fathers in America are not
afraid. Our boys should not have to fight under a Chief Commander who
is afraid.
I think you must realize, by now you are making a mistake in
refusing to unshackle our boys in korea, but i think you are so stuborn
that you would rather have thousands more american boys kiolled than
admit Harry S. Truman could be wrong. Or having no boy of your own
don"t you care.
I hope all mothers and fathers will send back their scrolls and medals
till we get as brave men in Washington as we have in korea.
(signed ) Mrs Edith Rosengrant dated jan
23 1952

2nd letter i found in archives;
this letter is from mr A. W. Simmons to Truman

I lose a son because you ordered him to his death. Then you fail to
give to him the military arms that this country posseses. You start
blundering usuless war that you may dictate in Korea instead of Staliin
Then drag it out so that our munition makers make millions and the
poor lose their son's
You should have all the medals (signed) A. W. SIMMONS

ANOTHER LETTER FROM JOHN WORK

Dear Mr. President, I hope you have read the attached article
(refering to rosengrant letter) and i sincerely hope that every voting
american has read it also and if you are foolish enought to run I trust
they will know how to vote against you.
I think you and your secretary of state are both cowards. The res
know only one language and that is force.
The method you are now following will have this "Truman War" going
for years.
Is that what you want Will you ever be a man and admit that
General McArthur was right and that you are going to have to follow his
plan to finish this useless and wastful waste of our soldiers
Or do you want to wait till Russia is strong enough to wage war.?
One thing I am certain of, is that you'll win, without a doubt, the
questionable honor of being our worst President
                  signed John D Work
another letter with returned medal

  H> S> Truman
I read the headlines where you wish to "sacrifice your health for
the nation".
You can attain your desire immediately by reading the enclosed
clipping.
(referring to a mrs cooper who returned her sons medal)
I dare your readers to let you read the original letter from Mrs.
Donna Cooper, Memphis Tenn, when she returned the Purple Heart medal and
scroll received after the death of her son, Paul , in Korea.
also many more such letters that have been ppublished lately with
returned medals and scrolls.
Your readers, secretaries, etc. who open your maill and read and
pick out what you read are not playing fair with you.
Surely such letters from mothers and fathers would touch your
heart. I am begining to believe you have built an iron wall around it.
How are you going to answer God at the judgement seat? I doubt if
you will make the judgement seat. You have to be born again (John 3:3)
to appear at that judgement. The great white Throne judgement comes
after you pass through 7 years tribulation, which you are about to
enter.
The Great White Throne Judgement takes place for the wicked, where
they receive their degrees of punishment for eternity. That means for
ever.
Youre a professing Baptist, but you r3efused to attend Billy Graham's
meetings in Washington D. C.
If your secretary refuses to let you read this she will answer for
it some day, but if you don't read it God already has and He is keepinng
books and you have turned down the
Gospel before this time.
It is appointed unnto man once to die and after this the judgement.
May God be with you and give you strength and wisdom to get this
nation out of the mess and if you can't----may he give youu grace to get
out and let someone else have a try.
The bible says, God uses the basist of men to rule in hiigh places."

No man can bring peace to this earth, except Christ when he comes
with His Saints to rule.
It behoooves us to be ready by being spirituallly related to god

Mrs Cooper wrote in her letter that the war was a needless slaughter

I am returning this medal to you with this thought to me he is
(refering to her son paul) a symbol of the 109,000 men who have been
scrificed in needless slaughter, a so-called police action that has not
and could never be satisfactorily explained to patriotic americans who
love their country and the ideas it stands for
"If there had been a need for armed conflict to preserve the
american way of life, I could have given him proudly and would have
treasures the medals. However, since there ws nothing superficial in
his whole life, I cannot mar his memory by keeping a medal and
stereotyped wors that hold no meaning and fail to ppromise a better
tommorrow for the ones that he died for.
  Mrs. donna cooper

i spen 2 hours in the research department today and these are the only
letters that the library has in their files about the purple heart.
there were other medals returned during WW2 also and not only Purple
Heart during the korean war. I hope this satifies those that were
asking about the rosengrant medal

almost forgot   here is a postcard sent to truman;;;
Dear Truman, Mrs Rosengrant should herself receive a medal for having
the guts to tell you off. It must make even you cringe when you think
of the countless dead and maimed boys whom you have sent to their death
and destruction simply because you insist on retaining traitors like
Acheson, Marshall and a host of other phoniesas advisors in this korean
slaughter. You (and all of your ilk) will get the full force of Public
Wrath come election time. Believe me there will plenty of S L I M E
removed from Wash.D.C. in November signed P.J. Cronin

I hope this helps all of you that were asking questions. paul korea
