As you know, it is not easy to kill civilians en mass with infantry weapons, face to face - with kids crying, women wailing, guts spewing out, the smell, etc. 
 
At any rate, going back to your earlier statement, I am assuming that it was ROKA fellows who had told you that the bad guys had done the evil deeds.

That is what the ROK's told us, it was the enemy.

As to how the civilians were killed; from the pock marks in the rock, they were in just about straight lines, such as from a machine gun set up.   Very few marks in the rock were scattered about.   I am sure it was a fast job done on the people. That was the first and only time I saw murdered civilians.
