What follows are just my preliminar findings about the serial numbers and 
dates you give me:

>-49-1281: Eagleston's damaged 6/17/51 (or 6/25 or 6/28?)
>Bombed as decoy 6/17 or 7/17?

I will ask Lt.Col. Bruce Hinton the exact date of this engagement (June 25 
or 28) because in case it had actually happened on June 25 1951, the 
defeater of Eaglestone was the Top MiG-15 Ace of the Korean War, Captain 
Nikolai Sutyagin, because he claimed one F-86 kill that day.
It would be great if you Cookie look for in his info and confirm whether the 
MiG of Sutyagin was hit or not that day. If he was actually damaged, that 
would match with the account of Hinton of that engagement.

It makes sense, because Jabara was jumped by 2 MiG-15s after he score his 2 
MiG kills on May 20 1951. Addittionally, a MiG-15 Ace of 196th IAP, Sr.Lt. 
V.N.Alfeyev, claimed to shot down an F-86 with a fuel tank hung up in one of 
its wings (Jabara could not release both tanks, one stayed on his Sabre). 
Jabara remebered the attack of Alfeyev that way:

"All around me I suddenly heard a sound which seemed like a popcorn machine 
running right their in the cockpit. Whirling around, I spotted a pair of 
MiGs firing at me from a very advantageous position! Kemp had tried to keep 
up with me, but he had been attacked by another pair of MiGs and had his 
hands full. This was a terrible surprise!...”

Jabara was saved by his buddy Eugene Holley, but evidently the 23 mm shells 
hit his Sabre so badly that it evidently was written of after landing.

I am still looking for the remaining serials in my sources. It is also 
interesting the difference in the date and cause of loss of the F-86E 
51-2727 as reported by the Soviets and USAF. Evidently one side is lying. 
Which one is a more difficult question to answer.
