Re: Is Nogun-ri still going on?

Hangyoreh (= one nation - web http://www.hani.co.kr/)  is a major Seoul news org.

Its founder, a nephew of mine, was a life-long prodemocracy fighter in South Korea.  He had served several jail terms under Park Jung Hee and Hung Doo Whang military govs.  Under Kim Young Sam and Kim Dae Jung, he was awarded Freedom medals.   His funeral early this year was attended by Seoul gov dignitaries.

If you have any info on the "Negro" soldier or the "2nd ID" officer who allegedly said '...ok to run down..', please contact the reporter who wrote the article - Lee Yong Nam, hjphoto@kg21.net
BTW, this incident has been reported by other Seoul newspapers.  I wonder if any list member is stationed at Camp Edwards or knows anything about this?

In the day and age of the PC Army this looks to be Fantasy Island reporting.

Who is this news agency, for one thing? Secondly, is there anything in Pacific Stars & Stripes or other newspapers which validates it? This a GCM (general court martial) offense in an Army which thanks to the Clinton administration puts form over function, and such an incident would be blasted all over the papers in the US right now if true.

There is currently dead silence from a still relatively hostile (to the military) US press, bound and determined to prove wanton destruction in Afghanistan by a trigger-happy administration, and that alone speaks volumes about the accuracy of this report.
