Hi John2-

   Read some history, guy, rather than making it up. I studied the UN in 
graduate school from many of the pricipals directly involved.
   The very first thing Truman did after the invasion was to confer with the 
UN. I believe it was Trigve Lee (sp) at that time. This was such a clear 
violation that the Security  Couincil voted 7 to 2 to intervene. The only two 
negative votes were Egypt and one other minor nation who I don't recall. Were 
they coerced? I don't think so. 
There is no evidence that we in any way precipitated the invasion. In fact, 
in the first few hours it was thought that it might have been a renegade raid.
   I don't think MacArthur was even  involved at this stage of the game. It 
was the State Department.
