Military personels

At the end of the war, there were about 3 million armed forces from both
side.
US had 1/3 of  army, 1/5 of the air force, and nearly 1/2 of the
navy personnel in Korean war.
China volunteer force had 19 divisions with 1.34 Million at the peak.


War Results

UPI war statistics (Oct. 25, 1953) showed that UN KIA was 1.47 million.
Korean Defense Ministry (History of Korean War) and Japan's War History
Magazine showed that KIA was 1.16 million.

published in 1988, the statistics are
UN KIA by both China and North Korea - 1.09 Million (including KIA by NK
prior to China participation - 136,000).
US KIA - 390,000
ROK KIA - 660,000
Others  - 20,000


China Casualty

Total KIA and WIA were 360,000 (KIA 115,000, WIA 221,000 and accidental
death
and disease and others 25,000), MIA and POW were 29,000.

War Consumption

US 73 million tons of material.   Cost 83 billion USD.

China  5.6 million tons of material. Cost 6.25 billion RMB.


Withdraw

Bulletin from CPVA HQ (March 12, 1958) indicated that the CPVA will
pullout from Korea before the end of December 1958. The pullout consists
three stages. First pullout will be completed by April 30th, a total
of 6 divisions (Shi) with 80,000 personnel. Second stage consists 6
divisions and special armed forces with 10,000 personnel and pullout by
August 14th. Third stage consists volunteer HQ, 3 division, and the
supporting personal with 70,000 personal and will be completed by October
26th.
