ADMINISTRIVIA. VIRUS WARNING

There is an old worm - W32.Badtrans.B@mm, first reported last
November - that is making the rounds again and with increased
vigor. Symantec has received over 1000 reports of infection with
a wide geographical distribution/

W32.Badtrans.B@mm sends itself as the last two of several
attachments of various names and so cannot easily be identified.
Once within your machine, it uses the mailbook addresses to send
copies of itself out in a mass mailing. It also - and here's what
you will want to watch for - creates \Windows\System\Kdll.dll,
which it uses to log your keystrokes and send the record to any
one of a number of addresses.

You may check

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.badtrans.b@mm.html

for further information and for the means of detecting the
presence of the worm and flushing it out. I would suggest that
those of you with an anti-virus program update it, and that those
without such a program visit

a facility that will scan your machines on-line and free of
charge.
