Millett is Mason Professor of Military History at the Mershon Center, Ohio State University.  He has written what is generally considered *the* history of the USMC, and is an acknowledged authority on the Korean War.

The Korean War requires "new thinking" that deals with the conflict as a war
of postcolonial succession, a People's War of revolutionary national
liberation, and a war of regional and global great power intervention.

A good analysis which closely
follows Bruce Cumings' conclusion!

Any background info on Millett?
