William Barber, 82, Korean War hero who won Medal of Honor

Here are two obits on Colonel (USMC) William Barber,
who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions at
the Chosin (Changin) Reservoir. I am sure there are
many Marines who would disagree with the Miami
Herald's article description of the battle as a
defeat.

Rest in Peace, Colonel Barber. Thanks for a job well
done.

William Barber, 82, Korean War hero who won Medal of
Honor

IRVINE, Calif. - (AP) -- Korean War hero and career
military man Col. William Barber, a Medal of Honor
recipient, died Friday after a long battle with bone
marrow cancer. He was 82.

Barber is best known for his heroism in one of the
worst defeats in Marine history, the Battle of the
Chosin Reservoir in 1950. Barber's Fox Company was
outnumbered by more than 5-1 at the reservoir south of
the Yalu River, which separates North Korea from
China.
