The Hidden History of the Korean War
Hi all-
I was in one of the local used book stores the other day and found a good
paperbook copy of L.F. Stone's book. It was moderately priced and I bought it
thinking of the suggestion of John2.
Well, it's not a bad book, well written. Stone says he wanted to write a
novel and we'll find out if that's what he indeed did do.
He starts out telling us that the war was started by some Chinese traders
who were trying to corner the soy-bean futures market (he's serious here).
Stone, I understand was a big believer in the conspiracy theories of history
and he tries to build a case much like Sherlock Holmes . . . deduction my
dear Watson.
Well, I'll keep an open mind John2 and I'll report anything interesting to
the rest of you guys, so you won't have to take the time to read it yourself.
