I went through rehab at Otsu in early 1951. I don't know what unit was
there pre-KW but it wasn't the 38th. The 2ID/38th were at Fort Lewis until
deploying to Korea in late July - early August 1950. The Japanese Naval
Academy was at Eta Jima.
