That sounds like the patch of the 7th
US Army which fought in Europe under LTG Patch. Not sure how it would have
wound up in Korea, which was 8th US Army.
The motto of 7th US Army was
"Seven Steps to Hell" and the patch clearly shows the stepped pyramid as
described.
