| I was going through some of the Chinese commemorative sites on the Korean war and noticed that without any other information the PLAAF claims have been revised -- upward, and by a good deal. For many years most sources gave their pilots credit for 271 air-to-air victories against either 216 or 231 losses. Now and with no other evidence (and when all other combattants are trying to sort things out, with numbers going DOWN) theirs are going UP. The PLAAF now claims things like this: - overall they shot down 330 UN aircraft in air to air combat - the 3rd Fighter Aviation Division scored some 115 of those claims - the "Wang Hai" group holds the record of 15 claims to 0 losses ((Note that Wang Hai retired as a full general and commander of the PLAAF right before these new numbers came out...)) Too bad they aren't publishing anything as close to useful as the Russians are. Even the somewhat biased Seidov and German give a better "who shot John" accounting than this bunch.
