As for the alleged contacts with North Korean submarines, I admit I have not yet read the book to which the link is provided, but consider it extremely unlikely that the Soviets would have furnished submarines to North Korea, given the state of development of the country and its miniscule navy. I am fairly sure that even China did not yet have submarines at the time of the Korean War, but will have to check that (coincidentally I am in Seoul at the moment for a few days and don't have my sources at hand).  North Korea did not get subs until the sixties or seventies.  It is not out of the question that Soviet submarines were snooping around our forces during the Korean War, and perhaps these were the subjects of the contacts.
