Re: War time buddies

HAHAHA. This was no dream for me. I was armed with a "grease gun" when I went ashore at Inchon. You couldn't hit the side of a barn with the thing .... even if you were inside the barn! And being all-metal meant it was all-rust. A Marine at Kimpo admired it, so I swapped it to him for his M1 rifle.
We got into a firefight shortly after that, and the rifle jammed after the first shot. Try as I might I couldn't close the receiver. I started dismantling it when my platoon sergeant crawled up behind me.
"Dove, what the hell are you doing?" he asked.
"I am cleaning my rifle, sergeant," I replied.
"Well, you picked a hell of a time to do it," he grunted, then crawled away.

Well JK; I have the same dream returning time after time.  I am sure others have had this one, where your rifle does not work.  No matter how hard you pull the trigger, it will not fire or you cannot release the safety.

What that is supposed represent or mean, I have no idea.
