Re: KLO in Korea
Old events can become muddled over time. When we went ashore behind enemy
lines I always thought the Gooks lit up our assault area with flares. It was
only recently that I mentioned this to others in my outfit. They said there
were no flares. My best friend suggested that it was the light from so many
tracer machine gun bullets that lit up the area. I have never been exposed
to such a sustained volume of tracers since then, so I cannot dispute this.
All that I know is on this moonless night I looked down the beach, and saw
men hunkered over, dragging their boats back to the water.
