Aside from the official history (US Military Government in Korea),
I think Gen. Dean wrote a memoir regarding his experience 
in Korea, including his time in the Military Government.

A few questions to you:

When you say you worked with the "Korean Police," 
did you mean the Korean police personnel who had
worked for the Japanese police under the Japanese rule?
Do you remember disarming or arresting any of them?
Were you involved in any way in suppressing the leftists or
disbanding the Korean Peoples' Committee(self-governing body)
that sprang up in various places in Korea, soon after the
surrender of Japan?
