Above has been true for Korean girls who dated G.I.s since
they were looked down for selling out their purity
for money.
However, I think the taboo is now fading away for various reasons.
1) Globalization: more interaction with non-Koreans.
2) Economic success: not many Korean girls would sell out
themselves for money nowadays.
As for sex crimes by G.I.s in Korea, I think this is still
a serious problem. In particular, many Korean girls working in the G.I.
towns have been often brutally murdered or assaulted.
This is one of the reasons why I am in favor of bringing our boys home
from Korea.
