The farmer did not die. He was squatting down sorting
red peppers with one hand and had the other hand
resting on his lower back. The bullet went through
one of his fingers severing it, then in his back, and
came out his abdomen and must not have hit anything
vital.
I got on the radio and called in a dust-off and the
air ambulance (UH-60 Blackhawk) flew him down to the
US Army hospital (121st Evac Hospital) in Seoul.
We were doing a routine live fire exercise on a ROK
Army range.
