Ofcourse let's not forget all the money Japan
gave
to their puppet General Park Chung Hee that
bought about the capital necessary for the
turn
around and modernization of the Korean
economy.
It's called ODA my friends - look it up and check
out
how much money they gave. By the way, a
Japanese
Prime Minister appoligised in either 1994 or 1996
AND
when the text book issue came up only a handful
of
schools bought the government textbook.
Under the treaties from World War II Japan has a
strong
"legal" case that they shouldn't have to make
reparations -
but the Japanese have pretty much made reparations
to
the Nation in ODA funds in my opinion.
As far as reparations to individuals - the
Japanese owe a lot
of people but are hiding behind the legal
treaties. Korea is
going to use it's increasing prosperity to get
back at Japan,
they'll colonize much of her failing industries
economically,
in my opinion. SK Telecom is doing that right
now - watch
closely!
At any rate, the Japanese who commited the
attrocities will
not be the ones who pay - it will be their
children's children
who ultimately pay when the other Asian nations
kick Japan
in the side as it
continues to spiral downward with government
expenditures exceeding GDP.
Korea's overall economic prosperity - partially
from those ODA funds
and the her spirit
of overcoming Han - as seen in the world cup -
have surely provided most South Koreans -
including the war victims -
a standard of living that they can be grateful to
Ha.na.nim - and
themselves for.
Sorry, that was really weird! I just never
get to talk to anybody else
about what I'm thinking as far as the whole
Korea-Japan thing goes.
