Don,

They're talking about "Yongp'yong-do" (which is the island group with 
"Soyongp'yong-do in it.)  Located at the mouth of Haeju Man so this puts 
the scene of the action about half way between Yongp'yong-do and Paengnyong-do.

And, yes.  PY-Do, Taechong-do & Sochong-do are still held by SK and were 
islands we operated from during and after the war.
