Re: List objective
Well,
If discussing alliances has to do with the list I'd just like to say not
to forget what North Korea is compared to South Korea.
South Korea trades with the USA and uses close ties with
us to raise the standard of living for their people. They
don't take down our standard of living, there's just annoying
anti-americanism that pops up from idealistic people.
You'll often notice that when only 2,000 people protest
the military it makes big news but when they protest the
US Media (AKA Ohno the Skater and Jay Leno's comments,
hollywood stereotypes, over-doing dog-eating stories,)
in FAR GREATER NUMBERS you don't hear anything.
If you want to see Pro-Americana in Korea read the Chosun
Ilbo - english.chosun.com - and you'll find anti and pro US
stories. Visit a Korean church during the English service and
you'll find some good people.
Even with the protestors and the anti-american sentiment just remember
how the North makes a living and you can appreciate South Korea
a bit more:
Report: Ex-North Korean spy says Pyongyang earns foreign currency by
smuggling drugs; China helps (Associated Press)
A former North Korean spy said North Korea relies heavily on drug
trafficking for foreign currency income and smuggles opium out of the
country with China's help, a Japanese newspaper reported Saturday.
