John,
5th AF got rolled up into Far East Air
Forces as well as some 20th AF bomber units.
For most of the Korean
War they had the following wings:
4th Fighter Intereceptor
(F-86) 51st Fighter Interceptor (F-51, then F-86) 8th Fighter Bomber
(F-80, then F-86) 18th Fighter Bomber (F-51, then F-86) 49th Fighter
Bomber (F-84) 58th Fighter Bomber (F-84) 1236th Fighter Bomber (F-84)
3th Bombardment (Light) (B-26) 19th Bombardment (Medium)
(B-29) 98th Bombardment (Medium) (B-29) 307th Bombardment (Medium)
(B-29) 452nd Bombardment (Light) (B-26)
They had other units rotate
in as well but most of them picked up the aircraft in theater and did not
bring in new aircraft. Also there were transports, helicopters, air-sea
rescue, reconnaissance, and tactical air support elements.
The full
air order of battle goes on for about four normal sized text pages.
