Sounds like a waste of ammunition to me. What could you hit with the ship
pitching? I went over before the war started. It is a good thing I
didn't have a rifle on that trip. I might have shot myself! I started
puking right after we sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge, and didn't stop
until we were about three days out of Yokohama. Except for getting sick on the
landing craft, I never got seasick again.
