Due to the AMERICAN historical significance (emphasis added) it is unlikely 
that you could, or would, get the veterans who were part of that battle and 
fighting withdrawal to buy off on changing the name. It has become engrained 
in American military legend and lore, and the Marine Corps for one (as is 
obvious from the comments) would not change it for a second. 

You must understand the "double entendre" meaning of the name of the 
organization by now -- "Chosin Few" (Chosen Few, as in those who survived; 
many did not).

You're about as likely to get the veterans to change that as history and the 
United States Army to refer to the actions of 25 June 1876 as the Battle of 
the Greasy Grass...
