Regarding Medics being armed, As you may know, the Marines do not have medic's, we are given Navy Corpsmen (who Marines regard as Marines), I have never seen a corpsman armed-doesn't mean they couldn't have carried weapons. I will tell you this, at the Chosin Reservoir, when the hospital tent was about to be overrun, the Doctor and Chaplain were handed Carbines and told to fire at anyone coming thru the tent flap. when Chinese appeared in the flap, the Chaplain couldn't bring himself to fire, but the doctor wiped out 3 Chinese soldiers.
