And yes, several years ago the question of Chosin vs. Changjin did come up at a meeting. After a few of us tried to roll Changjin Reservoir off our tongue (as opposed to Chosin Reservoir), we had a good laugh and it hasn't come up since.

Lee,

Thanks for the info!

I suggest that you bring up the issue again at your next meeting.
Suggest to change it to "Changjin Few" (a.k.a. Chosin Few)

I say this because it is important to teach Americans the
true Korean name for "Chosin Reservoir." If you talk to
Koreans that you fought at Chosin Reservoir, no one will understand it.
Likewise, by teaching Americans the wrong name, you also perpetuate the
mistake. Even as recently as 8/29, in calling for a pre-emptive
military attack on Iraq in his speech before Korean War veterans,
even Dick Cheney repeated the mistaken name: "...the successful fighting
withdrawal from the death trap of the Chosin Reservoir"

That was the worst history lesson on K.W. I ever heard.
Those who know only a mistaken history are bound to
repeat the mistake!
