Re: Chosin Few

I was not at the Reservoir in 1950 as I got to the front in January of 1951; but as a vet of that forgotten war and what you would call an outsider looking in, concerning November 1950, I say the following.

The men who fought and died there, to them at the time, they were at the Chosin Reservoir, fighting to survive, so leave it go at that.  It is only a name on a map.   New York City at one time was called New Amsterdam and is listed as that on very old maps.

The name of Chosin may be changed again some time long in the future by N. Korea to spite the Americans,  Who knows.

My wife's cousin was age 21 when he died in November 1950 and she told me it was at the Chosin Reservoir while with the Marines.  She told me this when she learned I had been in Korea after seeing some medals in a drawer.  I am sure she would not want the name changed, as she always called it Chosin whenever she would see a movie on TV about Korea.

Just my thoughts.
