IIRC from many news articles and tourist related literature that I have seen, Ho Chi Minh City is referred to as Saigon. In those occasions where it's called by its new name there is at least a footnote or asterisk indicating its alternate name, Saigon.

Another arrow for your quiver of changed names is Tourane, which is modern day Da Nang.
