Yongdongpo (spelled that way on our maps at the time) was a place where we fought a major battle. The loses suffered there by the NK's had a significant effect on their ability to defend Seoul. I don't want to bore the rest of the people on this thread with war stories, but if you are interested in a foxhole view of the battle. let me know and I'll e-mail you the details. Lee.

Lee, I was attached to Baker Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. On September 21, 1950 my company had two big fights on the outshirts of Yongdungp'o (Yong Dong PO/ Yongdongpo) 37 wounded and 12 killed. Are we talking about the same action? Or are you talking about Charley Company's fight of the night of September 22, 1950 on the dike near the rotary that carried the Inchon/Seoul Road in Yongdungp'o?  At any rate E-mail me your story.  Don Gill
