1st amtrac Bn was moved from positions on the south side of the Imjin River to Wolmi Do island in May of 53. This would seem like a move toward an amphibious landing
This didn't have the accouterments of an amphibious landing, if you will, such as ship's gunfire support, air support and massive numbers of ships involved. And this wasn't done to take land from the enemy, which amphibious landings did. It was just a maneuver, using amphibious vehicles. Of further significance was 1st MarDiv moved off the MLR in May and into Corps reserve.
