| Most of the napalm was dropped by the propeller driven attack aircraft -- F4U Corsairs, F-51D Mustangs, and B-26 Invaders. Some was dropped by AD Skyraiders but they tended to be used more for bombing missiond due to the fact they could carry 6,000-7,000 pounds of ordnance over short ranges. Some was also dropped by jet aircraft, but overall the bulk of the missions were either Corsairs or Mustangs, and the Corsairs were much better at it and dropped it closer to US forces. The Mustangs tended more to USAF battlefield air interdiction missions 10-25 km to the rear of the line of contact.
