I was just reading about it in Futrell's tome, and there were at least a few, top of the line, interceptors, F-94's, that crashed trying to shoot them down as it was too slow and could fly too close to the ground for the F-94.

An AD from MAG-12, probably VMA-121, is credited with shooting one down. The F7F Tigercats of VMF(N)-513 were probably the most successful at shooting them down.
