Re: Korea War II

Globalization was going to happen anyway..
As far as the current administration we have no idea what their ultimate Intentions are?
Just like Vietnam..we will get in a big mess.

Especially if it is not in the REAL interest of the USA
instead of the Special Interests that are dominating our countries intent.

With the right USA Leadership, IMO if there is a war with NK they will crumble...
They have some sustainment but the USA might actually get help from both China and Russia, this time.
Instead of having to fight a big war against them they maybe glad to get rid of a sore point..
The troops can fight for a week... but will run out of food and water.

The current Bush administration does not have the moxy or sense to do this.
Maybe the next administration.
Kim Il Sung may have a poor nation but he is far smarter then GWb.
Globalization in that area will create a highly competitive environment.

During WW2 the Japanese used NK as the Industrial base.
SK for food and agriculture.

The North Korea was close to raw materials and the Japanese
built a large manufacturing base around it.
A war would clear all the old stuff out.

Bob, in '50 we still had a large army in Europe to hold back the USSR.

Maury, in 1950 we waged a war on just one front. Bush has troops in Afghanistan, and Bosnia, and wants to start war with Iraq. If he does so, we will be strung way too thin, and the North Koreans know this. It will be difficult, if not impossible, to go on a real war footing now that we are almost completely dependent on foreign sources for things necessary to build, and rebuild a war machine. "Globalization" has really done us in. Those who have sold out this nation are now in charge of it. Do not mistake "defeatism" for realism. The North Koreans will eventually occupy all of Korea, just as North Vietnam now occupies all of Vietnam. As old as I am, I fear that I will live long enough to see this.

Is this your personal opinion?  I feel sorry for a person that has a defeatist attitude. They are whipped before the battle starts. In the 50's We were pushed back to the waters edge and came out of that with honor. There is no honor in saying we will be beaten before there is a shot fired. We may get there last but we will have the most. I hate to see a war fought over that little bit of land but if it comes to it we will pay the price.

The cost and consequences would be just too great if we do not do our best and win.

Maury
